Our partnership with Paralympics Australia began four years ago in the lead-up to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. This year, we're thrilled to continue our support as the team gears up for the Paris 2024 Games.
Fundraising is critical to Paralympics Australia. Without the support of businesses like ours, they couldn't send Paralympic teams to the summer and winter Games or provide opportunities for up-and-coming athletes to chase their dreams.
BIRKENSTOCK for Aussie Paralympians
Ahead of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, our team has personally fitted each Australian Paralympic athlete with Birkenstock sandals for comfort and recovery. Along with their shoes, each athlete will receive a limited-edition Paralympics Australia x Birkenstock shoe bag and badge as part of their uniform packs.
Meet Rowan Crothers
Alongside our partnership with Paralympics Australia, we've teamed up with freestyle swimmer Rowan Crothers, a two-time Paralympic gold medallist and five-time world champion. We first connected with Rowan in 2023 at a Paralympics Australia event, where his witty sense of humour, magnetic personality, and love for Birkenstocks left a lasting impression on us.
Rowan's journey to becoming a Paralympian started at age ten after watching the 2008 Beijing Paralympics. Since then, he has worked tirelessly to achieve his goals and become a world-class athlete. With his unwavering dedication, Rowan has already represented Australia at the Tokyo Paralympics, and we can't wait to see what he achieves in Paris!
